Summer is around the corner and I hope you have started thinking about your travel and lodging arrangements for the summer USTA Super National Tournaments and Zone Team Championships.

I offer the following tips:

• PLEASE SEND/FAX YOUR ENDORSEMENT FORM NOW
• Internet pre-registration will be available for the National Championships.  Please check www.usta.com and search for the appropriate tournament. Please be aware of the entry deadlines. There is no pre-registration for the Zone Teams.
• Endorsements for the USTA National Hard Court Championships and USTA National Clay Courts will occur soon after the USTA/Hawaii Pacific Junior Sectional Championships.
• Two (2) boys and two (2) girls will be endorsed for the USTA National Hard Court Championships.
• Two (2) boys and two (2) girls will be endorsed for the USTA National Clay Court Championships.
• Six (6) boys and six (6) girls will be endorsed for the Zone Team Championships (12, 14, 16s ). *new information
• Six (6) boys will be endorsed for the Junior Davis Cup.
• Six (6) girls will be endorsed for the Junior Federation Cup.
• Four (4) boys and (4) girls will be endorsed for the USTA BG16 Intersectional Teams

2009 ZONE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS – TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Based on the results from the 2008 Zone Team Championships, the schedule and format of the Zone Team Championships have been adjusted for 2009. All age groups of the Zone Team Championships will have the same dates, i.e., July 29 – August 2, 2009. All Zone Team Championships will have the same tournament schedule and format.

Team Composition
Each Team will have six (6) players
Player entry fee is $85
Boy’s and Girl’s Teams will be combined

Team Matches
Two flights of equal numbers of teams
Each team match will consist of 6 singles matches and 3 doubles matches.
Singles matches will be best of three tie-break sets
Doubles matches will be 8-game pro sets
Singles matches will count one point each
Doubles matches will count one point each
Mixed doubles matches will count for team score but not for ranking

3)  USTA Release and Medical Release Form

You are responsible for your own flight, hotel, and car arrangements.  You can find hotel and car information at http://www.dickinsonsports.com/ which has tournament discount codes.
