Location: Punahou School Tennis Courts, 1601 Punahou Street
Open to: physical educators, park directors, collegiate players, high school coaches and players, league players, after-school program providers, and Junior Team Tennis coaches/parents/volunteers.

Fee: $10 - Registration Fee includes packet of workshop materials

TENNIS INSTRUCTORS/COACHES NEEDED:
We’re seeking tennis players who would like to teach beginning youth and adult tennis classes. We have many park sites across the Oahu that need instructors for after school and after-work programs between 3pm and 9pm. We will provide training and equipment. Be apart of the USTA Play To Learn Tennis Program and join us on court!

To encourage the development of tennis, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), in cooperation with the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), is pleased to conduct a nationwide program for individuals who are teaching and coaching players new to the game and/or at the earlier levels of skill development.
Each Recreational Coach Workshop is conducted by an outstanding certified tennis professional specially trained to effectively handle groups and get kids and adults to play tennis quickly in a fun and social atmosphere. T his active 6-hour session covers:

Teaching large groups

The games-based approach to coaching

Running effective team practices
-
Games and drills every coach should know
Each workshop participant receives youth and adult curriculum materials, team practice information, and samples of innovative tennis transition balls aimed at accelerating the learning process.

Parents seeking the basics in coaching and organizing team tennis

Park and Recreation instructors, high school, and seasonal coaches

Coaches teaching kids and adults who are new to the game

Current players seeking part-time teaching jobs
QuickStart Tennis is the new play format for kids, ages 10 and under, to get into the sport of tennis. The game has been properly "brought down to size" for those children actually playing - racquets, balls, courts size and scoring have all been modified to suit the age of the child.
