Coaching and teaching tennis is tremendously rewarding as you positively affect the lives, health and enjoyment for players of all ages. Looking to become a coach or teaching pro or to improve the skills you already have? There are many paths available, from workshops geared for 10 and Under Tennis to becoming a Certified Tennis Teaching Professional.


The Second-Goal Parent: Developing Winners in Life Through Sports
This interactive workshop explores the role of a Second-Goal parent, supporting their child so that he or she has a fun, positive experience in sports.

The USTA offers six online courses that will improve your coaching skills and help you get kids playing more tennis. Please begin at course 1 and work your way through course 4 before attending an on-court 10 and Under Tennis Workshop. Courses 5 and 6 review the workshop content and provide you with additional resources. Upon completion of each course, you can download and print your certificate of completion.  And once you’ve completed this pathway, you are ready to take the teaching pro certification test with the PTR and USPTA. Real time, on court training will help prepare coaches and instructors to give young players an exceptional tennis experience – and keep them coming back.


We are seeking tennis players who would like to teach beginning youth and adult tennis classes. We have many park sites across Oahu that need instructors for after school and after-work programs between 3pm and 9pm. We will provide training and equipment. Coaching Requirements:

  • USPTA, PTR or other Certified Professional
  • Must be over the age of 25
  • Must have passed the USTA Sports Science Exam Level 1 or higher
