Muriel Osborne Hawaii Tennis Award
Muriel Osborne was first ranked #1 in Hawaii in the girls 18 and under division in 1941. She dominated the rankings for the next 40 years in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. When her children were grown she traveled to the mainland to play in the senior divisions. She won 2 silver balls and earned national rankings with partners Doris Hakman and Lethia Hall. In her memory, the Muriel Osborne Hawaii Women’s Tennis Fund was created to honor past, present and future women tennis players in Hawaii.
